Post Graduate Conference

Day 1 of the conference takes place at Sheffield Hallam University's Charles Street Building, on Charles Street, a ten minute walk from the Sheffield’s railway station. Maps can be found on the Maps tab. Registration will be open from 11:45 until 13:00 on Tuesday 4 July.

Day 2 of the post graduate conference will take place at the main City Campus, Owen Building, on Howard Street, with refreshments in Chef Hallam Central on level 6 and the workshop sessions taking place on level 10 of the Owen Building.

Full Conference

The full conference takes place in Sheffield Hallam University’s Owen Building on Howard Street, a 5 minute walk from the Sheffield’s railway station. Maps can be found on the Maps tab. Registration will be open from 11:00 until 13:00 on Wednesday 5 July, in the Heartspace Atrium on level 2 of the Owen Building.

From around the world

Airports with good transport links to Sheffield include Manchester, East Midlands, Leeds/ Bradford, Robin Hood Sheffield/ Doncaster, Birmingham and all London airports including Heathrow, Gatwick and Stanstead.

Train travel to Sheffield

All of the airports have good rail links to Sheffield, with direct trains from Manchester, East Midlands, Leeds/Bradford, Robin Hood Doncaster and Birmingham. For the London airports you will need to take a train to central London for onward travel via St Pancras International Station to Sheffield. All of the airport websites have links to travel advice.

If you are travelling to England from Europe via Eurostar please follow this link to Eurostar's webpage. Eurostar terminates at St Pancras International, where you will be able to take a train directly to Sheffield.

Travel to venue within England

If you are travelling to Sheffield from anywhere within the UK, please check train times via the National Rail website. Tickets can be bought up to twelve weeks in advance for the best prices.

Sheffield is well connected via the road network and travel details to the University's City Campus can be found here. There is a facility to put in your post code and get directions from home to campus.

If you are driving and staying at Jurys Inn on Eyre Street they have a special rate negotiated with the APCOA car park opposite the hotel. When entering the car park you will collect a token and this should be validated at the hotel, to get the better rate. The post code for sat nav for this car park is S1 4QW.

Weather

The weather at this time of year is usually fine and warm, with average temperatures between 15C and 19C, but you should come prepared for the odd shower. Up to date forecasts can be found on the Met Office website.

Parking for delegates not staying in hotels

Please find a link to ‘How to find us’ on our website here, where you’ll find driving directions to the venue. We have discounted parking rates at two of the nearest car parks to the City campus, APCOA on Eyre Street and NCP on Arundel Gate. Parking chips need to be scanned at the reception for the discount.
